Peter Holtslag and "Awakening Princesses" at Recorder Summit 2012 in Schwelm

11/03/2012

Peter Holtslag and AEOLUS celebrated their latest SACD release at the "recorder summit" in Schwelm, Germany. It's called "Awakening Princesses", and it's about really special ladies: They come from Oxford, they are about 300 years old and they are made from wood and ebony ...

The recorder summit in Schwelm is an international meeting of recorder enthusiasts, and it was the perfect place to introduce a very special AEOLUS SACD for the first time to the public: On this album Peter Holtslag plays original 18th-century recorders from the Bate-Collection (Oxford), together with Elizabeth Kenny (archlute, theorbo), Rainer Zipperling (viol, cello) and Carsten Lohff (harpsichord).

The booklet has got 64 pages, it's the biggest one AEOLUS has released so far. It contains a detailed text by Peter Holtslag as well as coloured pictures of the recorders.
