Upcoming live improvisation SACD with Thierry Escaich on new Grenzing organ
15/10/2009
We are proud to release in november this year a live improviation recording with Thierry Escaich on SACD.
This is going to be a really exciting new release especially for those customers particularly interested in live improvisation. Thierry Escaich is an internationally acclaimed composer, organist and improviser. He opended a series of inauguration concerts for this brand new instrument (35 stops on three manuals and pedal) just built by the Gerhard Grenzing company from Barcelona for the church of Santa-María la réal in Deba, in the Basque Country (at the coast, between San Sebastián and Bilbao). We recorded this live concert in surround sound. The themes for Thierry's improvisations are in part based on famous popular basque tunes, which are played by the basque txistu player José Ignacio Ansorena.
