Two more SACDs for the Bach project recorded in Arlesheim (CH) !

Two more SACDs for the Bach project have now been recorded in Arlesheim (CH) with Bernhard Klapprott !

01/11/2010

The Bach project moves on... SACD no. 13 and 14 have just been recorded in Arlesheim (CH) !

The organ in Arlesheim was built in 1761 by Johann Andreas Silbermann. It has been restored in the 1960s by the Metzler organ company and then later in 2005 by Gaston Kern.

We are happy to have Bernhard Klapprott participating at this huge recording project ! He is professor at the conservatory of Weimar (harpsichord, organ, clavichord). As a consequence he recorded two SACDs with mostly music from Bach's period in Weimar (Toccata, Adagio and Fugue for instance, about 20 chorals from the Orgelbuechlein, Passacaglia and fugue).

The church in rococo style looks very nice, and it has a fabulous acoustic.

We would like to express our gratitude for the opportunity to make these recordings. Thanks to the Parish of Arlesheim, to Jean-Claude Zehnder and to Peter Koller, the two organists. We had a great time. Enjoy some of the new pictures !
