Flanders Recorder Quartet: Recording in Antwerp with soprano Amaryllis Dieltiens

02/03/2008

In January 2008 a AEOLUS recording session took place in Antwerp in order to prepare the forthcomingg SACD with Flanders Recorder Quartet. Together with flemish soprano Amaryllis Dieltiens the Flanders Recorder Quartet recorded English consort songs.

Marie Verstraete (recorder) as well as Bart Naessens (harpsichord) took part at the recording. Since Han Tol left the ensemble in 2007 the new FRQ member Tom Beets makes part of the ensemble, alongside with Bart Spanhove, Joris Van Goethem and Paul Van Loey.

For the first time AEOLUS recorded in the Antwerp cultural center AMUZ, which provided the great hall, formerly a monastery church. AMUZ is located just in the heart of Antwerp.

The Flanders Recorder Quartet is one of the most famous recorder quartets in the world. Since 2004 SACDs with FRQ are produced and released by AEOLUS. In 2007 the Flanders Recorder Quartet celebrated 20th anniversary with the SuperAudioCD "Banchetto musicale".
