Aeolus just recorded two new SACDs for the Bach project !

Aeolus has just recorded two new SACDs for the project with the complete Bach organ works on Silbermann organs in the Alsace !

01/11/2010

In mid september we from Aeolus have pursued the project with the complete organ works by Johann Sebastian Bach on SACD.

The new recordings took place in the wonderful St. Thomas church in Strasbourg (Alsace), on the fine Johann Andreas Silbermann organ (1741), restored by Alfred Kern in 1979 and recently by Quentin Blumenroeder (2009). Thank you to the very nice people from the parish of St.Thomas in Strasbourg and to the two titular organists Daniel Maurer and Daniel Leininger, who gave us the permisson to record their fine instrument!
The first session was dedicated to Ute Gremmel-Geuchen's (Kempen) recording of Bach's "Dritter Teil de Clavieruebung" including the famous Prelude and fugue in E flat major (called St. Anne).
The second session took place in october and this time Gerhard Gnann (professor for organ at the University of Mainz) recorded some of the big Preludes and Fugues plus the Trio Sonata in c minor.
We now can say that the box will finally contain 19 SACDs... Enjoy some of the picures !
