Ladies
Ladies

French violinist Hélène Schmitt, internationally renowned for her work in the field of Baroque music, leads her audience into unexpected territory: the petites pièces by six female composers usually remain under the radar, also because, as women, their creators faced greater obstacles to establishing lasting reputations in the musical world. All the more rewarding, then, to experience these works – stretching from pure Romantic era to the breaking open of tonality – performed here with warmth and sensitivity.

Passions
Passions

Internationally acclaimed concert organist Zuzana Ferjenčíková, who is currently working on a complete recording of Jean Guillou's organ works for AEOLUS, can be heard on her new album “Passions” with her own transcriptions of works by Beethoven, Mozart, Schumann, and Liszt. The centerpieces are Beethoven's Grande Sonate Pathétique and Liszt's second legend of St. Francis, as well as Ferjenčíková's fascinating arrangement of the aria “Tristis est anima mea” from his oratorio “Christus.” The Seifert instrument used for the recording is at the heart of the numerous musical activities of “Orgelwelten Ratingen” and, thanks to its tonal diversity, is extremely versatile. The new SACD (stereo and 5.1 multichannel surround) reproduces the sound of the instrument, distributed in several locations in the room, in all its multidimensionality with remarkable plasticity.

Lamento e trionfo
Lamento e trionfo

On his new double album, court organist Stéphane Mottoul juxtaposes Franz Liszt's most important organ works with transcriptions of famous works by Richard Wagner, thereby revealing exciting connections between the compositional work of both composers. The giant organ of the Hofkirche St. Leodegar, built by Friedrich Haas (1858-1862) at the same time that Aristide Cavaillé-Coll created his organ in St. Sulpice in Paris, then expanded by Goll and Kuhn, is one of the largest instruments in Switzerland with five manuals, Fernwerk and Echo sections, and 103 stops. The sound of the divisions distributed throughout the room is particularly impressive in the 5.1 surround version of this SACD! Available as from September 19.

Dancing Organ
Dancing Organ

On his debut album “Dancing Organ,” Michael Bártek presents a varied program of dance pieces for the organ from different eras by composers like Sweelinck, Bach, Saint-Saens, Fauré, Ravel, de Falla, Bovet, Willscher, Hakim... He creates exciting sounds on his instrument, the 42-stop Kuhn organ in Richterswil, and AEOLUS has captured them in stereo and 5.1 surround sound. This new SACD will be available in mid-September!
