Musicality, virtuosity, and a great joy of music-making has distinguished the Main-Barockorchester Frankfurt for more than ten years. At the same time, a modern and lively interpretation oriented on historical performance practice, which is able to touch and captivate the listeners, stands in the foreground.
The orchestra’s repertoire ranges from early Baroque instrumental music of Italy to works of the early Classical period. Besides the extensive orchestral literature, it also encompasses the performance of cantatas, passions, and oratorios.
Under the musical direction of its concertmaster Martin Jopp, the Main-Barock-orchester Frankfurt has made a name for itself through its extensive concert activities. Regular collaborations with renowned soloists, participation in international festivals, numerous recordings for CDs and radio broadcasts, as well as its own concert series reflect the orchestra’s successful work.(3)
